Jaime Rubini

Jaime began rowing in Lima, Peru at the age of 16 at the Regattas Lima, La Punta, Callao. He was a competitor at the Pan American Games in 1971, after which he came to the U.S. and rowed at Vesper Boat Club in Philadelphia, PA with Anna Tomas.  There was a lapse of time when he dedicated his time to the creation and development of his business (Rubini Jewelers) and his family. Jaime came back to rowing when Alexandria Community Rowing was getting established.  His first experience with coaching was under Dee Campbell.  After the first year, he spent the next 10 years coaching freshman boys for then-T.C. Williams High School.  There were many winning races - to mention a few: many State Championships, a couple of third places at Stotesbury, 3rd at SRAA Nationals.

Jaime's next journey was as Head Coach for West Potomac High School for five years where he coached the girl's varsity eight, as well as the boys.

Perhaps his biggest contribution to Titan Rowing were his children: Lauren, Johanna and Christopher, who all rowed  and earned numerous gold, silver and bronze medals.

He is a long time member of U.S. Rowing, and is still coaching adults at Alexandria Community Rowing. He still competes at various competitions around the world.  When Jaime is not rowing on the Potomac River, he is rowing on the beautiful Shenandoah River.
