Old Dominion Boat Club (ODBC) Select Rowing  is operated by Alexandria Crew Boosters and is designed for those high level student athletes (not just from City of Alexandria schools) who wish to compete in Fall head races. Those who hope to compete at the collegiate level will find this program of special interest. ODBC  sponsors the program in partnership with ACB.

Join us on the dock for the hottest event with the coolest view in Alexandria!

Let’s celebrate the successes of the ODBC and ACR seasons together at our biggest Fall social event! We need Chili Contestant Entries, Volunteers and RSVPs for the 4th Annual Chili Cookoff Fundraiser!

We also encourage new rowers and families to come, to see firsthand the boathouse, meet other rowing families, learn about the programs and what to expect in coming seasons.

Make your best chili, bring your crockpot -- the heat is on!

20 Potential Entries… Meat or Meatless… $50 

(Put together a team to share cost of the entry fee and the glory of winning!)

1. BASIC RULE: Chili should LOOK GOOD, SMELL GOOD AND TASTE GOOD!

Chili Cook-Off Awards and Criteria Awards

Overall best chili – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with and without meat: Chili will be judged according to 5 main categories, and awards will be given to the top 3 overall best chili. 

Spiciest Chili: Looking for the spiciest chili but still maintaining flavor.

People’s choice: To be voted on by those coming to eat for the day. 

Open to 9th to 12th Grade Athletes

Girls begin Tuesday November 12th 

Monday to Thursday- 4:00-6:00 pm, Saturdays 6:30-9:30 am

Boys begin Tuesday November 19th

Monday to Thursday - 4:15-6:15pm, Saturdays to be announced

8th graders winter conditioning begins Tuesday January 8th

Alexandria Crew Boosters is the umbrella organization that oversees and supports the crew programs for youth in Alexandria, including the T.C. Williams crew program, as well as the Old Dominion Boat Club crew program and the Alexandria Community Rowing program for adults. The Alexandria Crew Boosters raises funds for all racing shells and equipment, including the launch boats that accompany the rowers. ACB also oversees the summer and fall learn-to-row programs, that are open to students from other area schools. We appreciate donations of any amount.
