Pete Stramese has been leading the Titan Rowing boys side since 2006. Since that time his crews have been 9x Virginia Champions, Virginia State, Stotesbury Regatta, and Nationals medalists, and finalists at the Canadian Schoolboy Rowing Championships. With Coach Peter Hearding working with the varsity, Stramese focuses on the light and second 8’s, and with dedicated support from the Titan Rowing coaching staff, Titan Rowing continues to be a force to contend with in many scholastic events.

Since 2001, Stramese has been the Mid-Atlantic USRowing Coaching Education Clinician (along with former Titan boys coach, Mike Penn), providing formalized instruction on how to be a better coach for hundreds of beginning rowing coaches. He provides trailering and trailer safety clinics for the Foundation for Rowing Education.

Stramese was a successful head women’s coach at Alexandria Community Rowing from 1997-2012, with those powerhouse crews winning multiple National Titles, local and regional regattas, and garnering silver medals at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. He has also coached Old Dominion Boat Club, Walt Whitman HS, Notre Dame Academy, and at Craftsbury Sculling Center.

A UMass and Virginia Tech Graduate, Stramese holds degrees in Electrical Engineering. He rowed for University of Massachusetts - Lowell as a lightweight medalist (‘93-‘96). He’s a compulsive marathoner (17+) and competitive Crossfit athlete, enjoys skiing and cold coffee, and works as an aerospace engineer. He lives in Alexandria.
