Patrick is a native to Alexandria and fellow Titan. In 1998, he rowed his way to a bronze medal at Stotesbury under then Freshmen 8 Coach Jaime Rubini. In 2000, Patrick was a member of the Titan Junior 8 for Coach Ed Cannon that won the Canadian National Championship.

After graduating from then-TC Williams High School in 2001, Patrick went on to James Madison University where he majored in math and economics. Shortly after finishing undergrad he began coaching the boys’ novice at TC. In 2012, Patrick moved to the girls’ side to coach the Freshmen 8, and two years later transitioned into the role of head coach for Titan Women's Rowing.
