Gareth Markel began coaching for ACHS in 2023, and coaches the novice men’s team.

Previously, he rowed for TC Williams from 2012-2016, and collegiately, for the University of Alabama from 2016-2019, racing events including the 4+ and 2-.

His hobbies include hiking, and competing for Potomac Boat Club’s men’s sweep team.
